Radio Werewolf - The Vinyl Solution (Review)

I figured that I would make a review of the new Radio Werewolf album here, as I just got my copy in the mail, and trust me, less than 5 minutes later it was playing in my computers' CD drive (It will be amusing as well to pop it into the car and blast the music, confusing others with all the windows down.)

This is a very good quality piece- for those who have listened to Radio Werewolf's work before we have a dual problem- most of the tracks were taken from vinyl (which ensures they have somewhat low quality to begin with) and most of them are being listened to through Youtube, which further degrades the quality.

This piece has been masterfully restored, and starts out with a prologue piece from the Zurich Experiment in 1991, then goes on to 6 tracks from "The Lightning and the Sun" and 4 tracks from "Bring me the Head of Geraldo Rivera" (The best album title ever.)

It finishes with the Schrecks' tribute tracks to the SIN-atras, which I imagine pissed off Sinatra fans when they found out who had covered the songs.

The 14th track is a "mystery bonus track:" I could tell you what it is but, suffice it to say it's a cover song, which a lot of folks would enjoy.

Of course, these works are from Radio Werewolf's more ambient/experimental period, particularly with "Sleepwalker" (My favorite song from the later Radio Werewolf works) you can hear the atmospheric sound, and you can feel the mystic intent behind such works. A dark rainy night is the perfect atmosphere to listen to most of their immortal, subversive work!

Definitely worth buying.

UVB-76 "The Buzzer" Story and Live Feed

Now-abandoned former transmitting site

or

Now it's time to gather around for a truly bizarre story.

There's a radio station at 4625 kHz for shortwave from Russia that has been broadcasting roughly the same monotonous buzzing signal since 1982: it's called "The Buzzer" and seems to be surrounded by bizarre theories as to its nature and, more recently, where it's coming from.

In addition to the 21 tone-per-minute background buzzing, morse code is often heard on this station- on rarer occasions there have been various voices, tests, and other noise heard from the station. (I was tuning in before writing this and heard some morse code myself being broadcast.) Sometimes the tone changes pitch slightly, slows down, or speeds up, seemingly without a purpose.

Theories of its purpose range from ionosphere observation, to military broadcast, to some sort of coded spy radio site, to a monitoring site for satellite feeds, to some sort of bizarre fusion of a transmitter and phone lines- however nobody seems to know for sure. Some phone conversations have been recorded as well from this broadcast- but the buzzing goes on 24 hours a day.

For those who wish to read more about this site you can read the Wikipedia article here and there is one very good blog with several live stream links here.

Street Light Interference Phenomenon

I stumbled upon this interesting article today and thought it might be of interest to some folks here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Street_light_interference_phenomenon

From Wikipedia:

Street light interference, or SLI, is an alleged anomalous phenomenon where a person seems to turn off (or sometimes on) street lights, or outside building security lights, when passing near them.
Although street lights can turn off by chance, such as high pressure sodium street lights cycling (turning on and off repeatedly) at the end of their life cycle, believers in street light interference tend to claim that it happens to them personally on a regular basis, more frequently than chance would explain. Some propose paranormal explanations for SLI, sometimes based on scientific terminology, such as the explanation that electrical impulses in their brain interfere with the workings of electric lights. Anecdotes about people's experiences of SLI have been reported by news sources.[1]
SLI has never been demonstrated to occur in a scientific experiment, and those who claim to cause it have been found to be unable to reproduce the effect on demand; they give the explanation that the effect is not within their mental and physical control.[2] Many times they do report, however, that it occurs with specific lamps and not just randomly shutting off street lights or electrical lamps in general.[3][4]

I found this interesting mainly because I myself have experienced this in a fairly regular (nearly daily) basis for years- oddly it seems to be increasing over time as well. While it is entirely possible this is an example of merely noticing something others don't notice- I find it rather strange that it happens to me so frequently- sometimes 4 or 5 times in the course of a night.

Zeena Schreck Facebook Page

Please note: A link to the official Zeena Facebook page will be added to the sidebar later tonight.

The ever awesome Zeena

The folks over at Zeena.eu, who help Zeena, who is artist, photographer, animal rights advocate, writer, spiritual guide, and leader of the Setian Liberation Movement, have set up an official Facebook page for her- much like the folks helping Nikolas Schreck constructed an official page for his content some time ago.

This will, in the time to come, be an important venue for keeping up to date with her many projects, although please keep in mind, she does not, herself, manage the page itself! (Don't message the page to try and contact her- the Schrecks prefer snail mail!)

Very exciting news for us all!

America tightens its Bible Belt

Jesus Land in red, USA in other colors.

The bible belt is a vast stretch of wasteland reaching from the Atlantic ocean to just past the border of Texas and New Mexico, a primitive land of rusty pickup trucks, bluegrass music, and severe punishment for minorities.

In recent years though this land of sour milk and killer honey bees has been losing steam, as other religious groups, and political persuasions, begin to make inroads into the vast kingdom of Jesus Land.

On one front, New Mexico, which 50 years ago was about half consumed by bible belt fundamentalism, has gone blue, and only a thin strip of land on its border with Texas is even disputed territory now, with hispanic immigration bringing in liberal Catholicism there.

The hispanic Catholics are slowly moving north into Texas, and in a few decades it could theoretically become a swing state.

Florida also has a large number of more liberal immigrants which in the last decade has stripped most of its southern half of bible belt status.

Even Virginia, once a homeland of KKK members and incest has recently swung to become a more moderate territory.

Religioisity is curiously inversely related to state academic achievement.

As the bible belt slowly thins, marginal locations bordering it are slowly warming up to civil rights, racial equality, marriage equality, women's rights, and voting for people who aren't members of the Ku Klux Klan. It will be a proud day indeed when the bible belt inevitably disappears altogether as extreme evangelism loses more and more power, as it has been slowly dying since the early 1980s.

My Problem with the Church of Satan

Please note that this article is directed against the administration and organizational structure of the Church of Satan, not the individuals who are merely members!

I am indeed a Satanist- I believe the philosophy behind the movement to be essentially sound- to indulge and to neither bother anyone nor allow yourself to be bothered.

That being said there are some wild differences of opinion which I hold, especially with members of the actual Church of Satan, which at this point might as well just be a house-of-cards scam organization designed simply to make money, without giving anything back to the community of Satanists who joined it.

Anton LaVey: Scam Artist

For Starters, the book that LaVey made his money off of, and built his entire church around, was never original to begin with- it's a somewhat altered (but still semi-plagiaristic) version of the early 1900s tract "Might is Right" by Ragnar Redbeard. I have read both works- in many cases the Satanic Bible essentially copies entire paragraphs which Anton likely found enthralling enough to include. Most Laveyyan Satanists don't even know that the Satanic Bible they likely bought off Amazon for 50 dollars is available in a free pdf format in its original form, because the original tract is old enough not to be copyrighted.

Peter Gilmore: Chucklehead in chief

Arguably even worse is "high" priest Gilmore who currently runs the Church of Satan like a crack addict might run a meth lab (that is to say, badly.) Continuing LaVey's traditon of misleading young folks who join the organization in an attempt to find some deep meaning within the church, but then end up paying 200 dollars for a little red paper card, only to find the organization offers very little beyond the card that lets you shock your christian friends when you show it to them. You could print this same card out for 30 cents at your library and it'd be the same thing.

Boyd Rice

I'll give Boyd Rice a slight pass- after all unlike LaVey or Gilmore he's at least original enough to develop new ways to shock and displease the fundamentalist christians who irk all reasonable people- and I will admit a lot of his music is quite good- Boyd gets additional brownie points for pointing out a few years ago that people should just do what they want and not necessarily pay the big bucks to join the CoS (something which must have displeased the ever slimy Gilmore.) That being said, he's still an arrogant SOB.

Public Relations gone wrong: Peggy Nadramia

Perhaps the worst of all is the person the Church of Satan decided to put at the helm of answering emails and other correspondence- Peggy Nadramia- whose attitude towards innocent questions and queries online (and I have tried contacting the CoS several times for perfectly legitimate reasons) leaves much to be desired. People asking questions on their website will be greeted with the same palpable friendliness that's usually reserved for loan sharks who take their client to the back alley while holding a baseball bat.

As a result of the mess that is the modern CoS, I have essentially begun to regard them as a mosquito incessantly buzzing around my ear as well as the ears of others who are trying to remake Satanism as something more than a silly little scam to grab the money of teenagers and college students: Ask yourself this; if the primary goal of Satanism is to liberate oneself and use your rational mind, why would you allow yourself to be suckered into spending 200 dollars to join their little club, which offers you absolutely nothing, when you can just as easily become an independent Satanist for free- AND you won't have this gang of idiots rambling to you every time you ask a question. Some of us think Satanism can be something more than a way for a few idiots to make enough money to sit around drinking beer all day. You DO realize these folks probably laugh at every person who buys membership?

The Manson File: Myth and Reality of an Outlaw Shaman

As you all know, one of the goals of this blog is to support the work I do on behalf of Nikolas and Zeena Schreck, it will be easier to spread information here- take less time and effort, and to tell the truth some days I just don't feel like making videos for whatever reason.

I figured I'd post about the new updated Manson File- something some of you may not have seen my video about.

For reviews of the book, etc, you can visit this link to the goodreads page for the book. To purchase it, go here to the shop page on Nikolas Schreck's website. It's well worth the price considering its size and the intrinsic value of truth it imparts.

If any of you have already read this work you may consider leaving it a rate/review on goodreads- the site is amazingly simple to use and you might find some other great material to read.
